When Is The Pacquiao vs Marquez IV Boxing Live

Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez have already sold 13,000 tickets for their December 8 matchup at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, according to a recent press release from Top Rank, who are promoting the fight. HBO pay-per-view will broadcast the bout.

This is the fourth fight between the two future Hall of Fame fighters. From the tickets sales it appears that, although people in the media have criticized this fight, the fans are still interested.

Many thought that after Pacquiao’s controversial loss to Tim Bradley that there would be an immediate rematch in November, but the Filipino congressman decided to go another route and fight Marquez for a fourth time.

Pacquiao is no stranger to rematches with Mexican Legends. In addition to his three previous fights with Marquez, Pacquiao has fought Marco Antonio Barrera twice and Erik Morales three times.

In 2003, Pacquiao stepped in the ring with Marco Antonio Barrera for the first time in a featherweight matchup and scored an 11-round TKO.

In their rematch just under four-years later in 2007, Barrera, didn’t fare much better losing a lopsided 12-round decision to the Filipino slugger in a super featherweight fight.

Pacquiao fought Erik “El Terrible” Morales on three separate occasions, all of which took place in the super featherweight division. In his first match with Morales in 2005, Pacquiao lost a 12-round unanimous decision.

The second fight of the trilogy took place in 2006 and saw Pacquiao score a 10-round TKO victory over Morales. The stoppage loss was the first of the Mexican legends career.

In their third and final fight, Morales appeared to get old overnight and was blown out by Pacquiao, who stopped him by in the third-round.

Win, lose or draw, against Marquez, I doubt this will be the last recycled opponent of Manny Pacquiao’s career. I have a feeling that when a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight isn’t made, Pacquiao will fight yet another rematch, this one against Tim Bradley.
